How can RZT help me?
How can RZT help me?
Most of us, have an increased awareness of the negative effect that stress has on our body’s ability to function effectively.
In trying to manage our stress levels, it makes sense to choose a therapy which fits into our daily lives, helping to effect change
thus supporting longer term results.
RZT has emotional benefits too.
After experiencing a session of deep relaxation, one can suddenly find all one’s bottled-up emotions welling to the surface. This experience may leave you feeling emotional and vulnerable for a while, but this opening up of our emotions could lead to some self-examination and assessment as to how you are caring for yourself.
RZT can be beneficial within the framework of a Holistic Care Plan, enabling you to integrate your self-care, social activity, motional and spiritual needs.
Why do I need to complete an information and consent form?
This gives me a picture of your health past and present and any underlying health conditions you may have.
Safety and Health Risk Mitigation: It ensures I am aware of any conditions that may preclude you from having a treatment.
Informed Consent: It acts as a formal process to confirm you understand the treatment, expected outcomes.
Setting Boundaries: It allows you to specify preferences and areas to avoid, ensuring you feel comfortable and in control of your
session.
How long is the session?
Your session can be 60 or 90 minutes.
Your first session is always a little longer.
What can I expect in my first session?
Plan on arriving 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment if you are completing your info& consent form.
You can download this, complete and return to me before your session or bring a printed copy with you.
Your first session generally starts with an overview of your medical history and lifestyle.
This allows us to discuss any concerns your aims you’ve noted, and I can answer any questions you may have.
I then tailor the session to your specific needs.
Positioning
Ensuring comfortable positioning is essential to you enjoying your session.
End of session
At the end of the session, I allow five to ten minutes for you to gather your thoughts and belongings, and for us to have a brief
discussion about your treatment, your response, and aftercare suggestions.
Do I stay dressed
You will only need to remove your shoes and socks.
Wear comfortable clothing that does not constrict your breathing.
Make sure you bring socks and a jersey; your temperature drops as there is some natural loss of body heat.
